STAIN REMOVAL

Colour Guard’s unique formula lifts stubborn stains and dirt yet protects your clothes from the dullness of frequent washing. Below are some tips to help you tackle tough stains and keep your colours looking newer for longer.

GENERAL ADVICE

When dealing with stains your best defence is to act fast. The quicker you treat the stain, the more likely it will be easily removed.
Always read the care label on your clothes first and follow the care instructions.
Check your garment is colour-fast first (test a small unseen area by wetting the area checking to see if the dye runs).
Remove excess stain liquid with a clean white cloth or paper towel and remove solids by gently scraping with a blunt knife. Be sure to brush off any excess solids before the garment is submerged.
Make a paste using Radiant powder and apply to the stained area, then add to the wash as per usual.
Alternatively, soaking stained clothes in a diluted bucket of Radiant is often the best way to remove stains. Never use soap as this may set most stains. Do not soak silk, wool, non colour-fast garments or garments with metal trims.
Check that no stains have remained on your clothes before drying. The heat of a dryer or iron can make the stains more permanent.
Caring for your washing machine will mean it continues to provide a consistently clean wash. Two or three times a year run your machine on a hot wash without any clothes. Add the standard amount of washing powder or liquid and this will help clean out any dirt and build up in the machine and pipes.
When towels are new and don’t absorb water well, pop them into the wash with half a cap of bicarbonate soda and your towels will come out fluffy and more absorbent.
